We first reported this news back in Nov.30th when Japanese weekly publication, オートスポーツ Auto Sport Magazine published an article about a rumored GT300 entry from Toyota which was based on the Toyota Prius.
Fast forward to present time, real life photos of the car surfaced today straight from the 2012 Tokyo Auto Salon show floor. Check it out!!
Not too many details are out yet but the Team APR who entered a pair of Corolla Axio GT this year was said to be the one preparing the car for the 2012 season of Super GT.
One thing for sure is that this GT300 Prius will be pushing close to 300hp max to stay within the GT300 regulations.
Being a Toyota car, TRD is also involved with this project.
Even with the full GT300 spec aerodynamics, the side profile of the race car is unmistakably PRIUS.
Hmm.. check out that suspicious device on the passenger seat area… maybe a regenerative system?
